The war spread to the district area in June 1993, and since that time the civilians have faced the general lack of foodstuffs, mitigated only by an occasional humanitarian relief.
June 17th 1993, B-H Army soldiers attacked the district area from the direction of Fojnica, during which time twenty HVO soldiers were killed, while another six were captured.
June 20th 1993, B-H Army soldiers shelled the town. As the result of Moslem attacks some fifty HVO soldiers were killed, and the Croat residents were evicted from seven villages in the northern part of the district: Poljani, Kojsina, Vranci, Crnici, Ratkovici, Bjelavici and Alagici. The surviving population continued to live in general insecurity and uncertainty.
